Position Summary:
To provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients within a specific nursing
department.
Develops a patient database through interview, physical assessment, and psychosocial assessment.
Plans and provides patient care which is correlated with the medical plan of care and is appropriate to the patient’s age, developmental maturity, and functional status.
Plans and provides sensitive, compassionate care to patients and families
Administers medications in accordance with protocols and procedures.
Performs treatments in accordance with protocols and procedures.
Instructs patients and families appropriately.
Provides discharge instructions to patients/families, including medications, medical devices, and follow-up care needs
Evaluates patient status through ongoing assessment, and reports significant symptoms, reactions, or changes of status to the appropriate person.
Documents plan of care and care provided in accordance with protocols and procedures.
Education and Training
Current licensure to practice Professional Nursing in the Commonwealth of PennsylvaniaÂ
